Theater of Shadows and Collections

Housed in one of the oldest buildings in Rochefort, the Hôtel de Cheusses, the National Marine Museum has collected the most valuable witnesses to the life of the Dockyard, since its founding by Louis XIV to its closure in 1927. In the permanent course, models, tools, paintings, sculptures, machines, weapons or navigation instruments deliver the keys to understanding this arsenal.
As part of the Nuit des musées, the museum offers a shadow theater. Richard Destandau, of the Blue Moon Theater, will present for the occasion his latest creation "Like a hot air balloon".
