17 travel through centuries of history

In the exceptional setting of the Castle of Brest, the National Marine Museum houses a unique heritage testifying to the great naval adventure Arsenal Brest and the French Navy.

In the recently renovated rooms, visitors can discover the masterpieces of naval decoration, the expedition Laperouse, life convicts or iconic ships of contemporary Navy.

The visit combines interior and exterior, allowing to appreciate the richness of the collections, the panoramas on the bay and the city and the architecture of the castle: Gallo-Roman foundations with the fortifications of Vauban while passing by the curtains, the bastion and the walkway is a journey through 17 centuries of history that is offered to the visitor.
